There’s also a paved trail for walks, jogging, cycling that runs along the beach, 8.5 miles long. Check out RV site availability and complete reservations online (Note: there is a maximum stay limit of 14 consecutive days). The rate is $50 per night.

Huntington Beach, California has a stretch of beaches 9.3 miles long, along the Pacific Coast Highway. Beaches from North to South are Sunset Beach, Bolsa Chica State Beach, Huntington City Beach and Huntington State Beach.

The dog beach is a pretty long stretch of beach. Dogs are allowed off leash in this area from Seapoint to Golden West Street. It’s so much fun watching dogs of all sizes running and playing in the ocean and sand. We camped at Bolsa Chica State Beach several years ago and all of our girls LOVED this beach.

Further down the beach, check out the Pier, which is the 5th longest municipal pier in California. The pier is a nice, relaxing way to enjoy the ocean. It has concrete benches, free fishing, souvenir gift shops, and offers an ocean view at Ruby’s Diner at the end of the pier. One of the gift shops sells tons of kites and kite flying is permitted at Huntington Beach. Near the pier’s entrance, there’s beach volleyball on the sand and the Pier Plaza that has cement seating and a grassy lawn. Every Friday afternoon, a Farmer’s Market and Art Fair is set up there. It’s not a huge set up, but still something neat to do.

There’s another RV camping lot (Sunset Vista RV Park) past Bolsa Chica, but it’s more expensive at $70 per night. It has the same hook ups, electric and water, but it is right next to the pier.

We’ve enjoyed our stay at Bolsa Chica State Beach, again and we recommend it for all the RV doggies out there!
